Kaiserberg

„Emperor’s Hill“

The way up to the Kaiserberg is a little difficult for people with a walking impairment or for strollers. Therefore, we created another entrance at the Kaiserberg easily accessible by car.

The view from the Kaiserberg over the Park and the city is spectacular. Contrary to the lively Neumühle Park it is rather quiet up here. It is the center of the ecological and agricultural displays with sample fields for fruit and vegetable cultivation. The Kaiserberg concept includes renewable primary products, the traditional fruit trees on grassland, a medicinal herb garden, a historical farmer’s garden and a bird protection area. If you are interested in viniculture, the planting and care of wines, a tour of the vineyard is recommendable.

Also, the area of the outdoor laboratory attracts the curious and children can learn a lot about nature here. The dinosaur sand box and the archeological excavation field are an adventure, especially for children.

The willow chapel is the undisputed highlight of the visit. It has been built solely from live willows and is unique in the southwest part of Germany. Looking up to the sky from the inside of the chapel the sun twinkles through the leaves and you might feel a little closer to heaven.

Many small and larger sites on the Kaiserberg invite the visitor to take a break: the millenium grove surrounded by a tree-lined road, the open-air arena “Kaiserbergterrassen” or the Barbarossa throne at the highest point of the Kaiserberg. Take a seat on the stone chair and enjoy the unique view over the hill, the city and the forest. It’s worth it!
