Terrain
The first Horticultural Fair in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2000 was a story of success. Therefore, it was logical to install the Kaiserslautern Garden Fair as a recurring annual event. The terrain reflects the topography of hills and valleys typical for the Kaiserslautern region: The entrance area and the Neumühle Park (Dinosaur Park) are located in the valley; the Kaiserberg (elevated part of the area) requires some climbing.
This mixture of elevated parts of the park and those located in the valley constitute the special charm and attraction of the area.
Every part of the area is easily accessible by walking and many small treasures along the way make hiking through the park a pleasant undertaking.
A visit to the Kaiserberg should definitely be part of the program. From there you have a spectacular view of Kaiserslautern and how beautifully the city is embedded in the middle of the Palatinate Forest. Visitors wanting to spare themselves from climbing up to the Kaiserberg are recommended to drive their cars to the upper entrance at the Kaiserberg.
